Annie Gopaul brings more than thirty years of distinguished legal experience to every matter she handles. Before returning to full-time private practice, she served as Legal Advisor to a major Trinidad conglomerate and to several private companies, advising on contract negotiation, corporate governance and regulatory matters.

Ms Gopaul appears regularly before the Family Courts, the High Court and the Court of Appeal. She has prepared briefs for King’s Counsel at Privy Council level — among the most demanding advocacy work available to any attorney — and has worked alongside a retired Court of Appeal Judge and several Senior Counsel over the course of her career.

Her practice today focuses on family law, probate and estate administration, wills, property and conveyancing, landlord and tenant matters, and civil litigation. Clients consistently describe her work as meticulous and unhurried — a reflection of her earlier career as an educator, where clear explanation was the foundation of her profession.

Ms Gopaul holds a B.A. (Hons.) and M.A. (Hons.) in English from the University of the West Indies, a Diploma in Education, an LL.B. (Hons.) from the University of London, and completed the Legal Practice Course at the University of Staffordshire. She is admitted to practice in Trinidad and Tobago and is a member of the Law Association.

Beyond her practice, Ms Gopaul is involved with several charitable organisations in Trinidad.
